DaysofPal- The senior Hamas official Osama Hamdan described Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s participation in what is referred to as a Peace Board as the farce of the era, noting that Netanyahu is wanted by the International Criminal Court.
In media remarks on Wednesday, Hamdan stated that Hamas has not received any draft or official proposals from mediators concerning the weapons of the resistance.
He reaffirmed that the movement’s position remains unchanged and that it has not formally adopted any decision to freeze its weapons, describing resistance as a legitimate right as long as the occupation persists.
Hamdan emphasized the Palestinian people’s rejection of any external guardianship, stressing that no international force can replace the Israeli occupation forces in the Gaza Strip.
He added that Hamas had communicated with the Indonesian government to clarify that the role of any potential international force should be limited to deployment along Gaza’s borders to separate Palestinians from Israeli forces and protect civilians.
He noted that any international stabilization force, if formed, must work to prevent Israeli aggression against Palestinians.
He also stated that the Israeli occupation is continuing to obstruct the operation of the Rafah crossing, allowing only very limited numbers of people to pass and preventing the entry of the national administrative committee tasked with managing Gaza’s affairs.
Hamdan further claimed that since October 7, 2023, the Israeli occupation has carried out a campaign of genocide in Gaza with U.S. and European support, involving killing, starvation, destruction, displacement, and arrests, while ignoring international calls and orders issued by the International Court of Justice to halt operations.
According to reports cited in the statement, Israeli operations have resulted in more than 242,000 Palestinians killed or wounded, most of them women and children, in addition to more than 11,000 missing persons and hundreds of thousands displaced, alongside widespread destruction affecting infrastructure and most cities and areas across the Gaza Strip.
