Gaza Ceasefire Fails to Deliver Vital Humanitarian Aid

International Outcry Grows Over Gaza’s Worsening Humanitarian Crisis

DaysofPal – Despite 105 days since the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip went into effect, verified field data show that humanitarian aid remains the most glaring failure in the deal’s implementation. Severe restrictions imposed by Israel on the entry of aid trucks, coupled with a stark discrepancy between announced figures and realities on the ground, have deepened the humanitarian catastrophe and kept Gaza’s population trapped in prolonged deprivation.

The daily report detailing ceasefire violations states that only 43.7 percent of the agreed-upon quota of aid trucks have actually entered Gaza since the agreement’s inception. The daily average has remained below 262 trucks, far short of the 600 trucks per day stipulated in the ceasefire terms.

Vital Sectors Near Collapse

This significant shortfall extends beyond food and medical supplies to include fuel deliveries, which have reached only 13.9 percent of the agreed amount. The resulting fuel crisis has led to near-total paralysis in essential sectors, particularly hospitals, water pumping stations, and sewage treatment facilities.

Another critical dimension of the crisis lies like the limited goods permitted to enter Gaza. Dr. Munir Al-Barsh, Director General at the Ministry of Health, stated that Israel is pursuing a policy of “slow killing” in Gaza—not only through bombardment, but through calculated deprivation. He explained that non-essential items are allowed into the market, flooding it with goods of little value, while life-saving medicines and nutritious food are systematically blocked.

Al-Barsh warned that Gaza is witnessing the spread of severe influenza and unprecedented viral strains, while hospitals are overwhelmed with entire families seeking treatment. Medical supplies continue to dwindle, contributing to worsening malnutrition, rising anemia rates among mothers and children, and an increase in premature births. He described these conditions as part of a deliberate policy targeting life itself.

Manipulation of Aid Data

The report also documents systematic manipulation of data by Israeli authorities regarding the movement of aid trucks. While Israel claims that approximately 582 trucks enter Gaza daily; on-the-ground monitoring confirms that actual figures are less than half that number. This discrepancy, the report argues, underscores the urgent need for an independent international body or field teams of mediators to directly verify aid entry mechanisms and ensure transparency.

Daily Ceasefire Violations Continue

Alongside the humanitarian blockade, Israeli forces continue to carry out daily violations of the ceasefire. Since the agreement took effect, the report has documented 1,349 violations, an average of 13 per day, including killings, injuries, shelling, home demolitions, live fire, and military incursions.

These violations have resulted in the deaths of 496 Palestinians, the majority civilians, including a high proportion of children, women, and the elderly, as well as more than 1,300 injuries. All incidents occurred within areas designated as part of the ceasefire zone.

The report stresses that the continued restrictions on humanitarian aid cannot be separated from these violations. Together, they form a coordinated pattern that strips the ceasefire of its practical meaning and transforms it into a cover for ongoing military control and collective punishment of the population.

It further notes that violations affecting infrastructure, the health sector, and border crossings, particularly the Rafah crossing, remain unresolved, with no tangible progress recorded.

In light of these conditions, the report concludes that Gaza’s humanitarian situation has seen no real improvement and continues to deteriorate with each day of delayed aid delivery.

Protecting civilians and ensuring unrestricted humanitarian access, it argues, is no longer a procedural matter but a true test of the international community’s seriousness and ability to compel Israel to honor its commitments and end the use of food, medicine, and fuel as tools of warfare against the Gaza Strip.
