DaysofPal- The Israeli occupation is continuing to breach the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, worsening an already severe humanitarian and services crisis and pushing the territory’s fragile healthcare system toward collapse, Alaa Skafi, head of the Gaza-based Al-Dameer Human Rights Foundation, said Thursday.
Skafi said that the repeated Israeli violations of the ceasefire are intensifying shortages and obstructing the flow of humanitarian aid to civilians.
He noted that close to 80 percent of the trucks permitted to enter Gaza are being redirected to the commercial market, where goods are sold at sharply inflated prices that most residents cannot afford.
This, Skafi added, effectively strips civilians of real humanitarian assistance at a moment of extreme need.
Skafi also warned that Al-Awda Hospital is on the verge of shutting down as fuel supplies run out, describing the situation as an impending “health disaster.”
He said the hospital could be forced to suspend operations within hours, resulting in a total inability to admit patients or deliver lifesaving treatment.
The warning comes as Gaza’s health sector remains under immense pressure due to prolonged restrictions, shortages of fuel and medical supplies, and continued instability, conditions that raise serious fears of further loss of life if the crisis is not urgently addressed.
