DayofPal—Hamas confirmed Wednesday that it was not responsible for an explosion in Rafah that injured an Israeli officer.
The officer was injured when an explosive device detonated near an armored vehicle in Rafah.
War criminal Benjamin Netanyahu claimed Hamas fighters had injured the officer and that the act is violating the ceasefire agreement. He furhter warned that Israel would respond accordingly.
Hamas movement thereby stated that the blast occurred in an area fully controlled by Israeli forces, with no Palestinians present, and pointed out that it had previously warned about unexploded ordnance left from past incursions into the city.
Hamas official Mahmoud Mardawi tweeted that the explosion was caused by leftover Israeli bombs and that mediators had been informed of the risk of Israeli claims.
Hamas called on Israel to uphold its commitments, avoid creating pretexts for escalation, and reaffirmed its own adherence to the agreement and related obligations.
