DaysofPal- The Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) on Wednesday launched a fresh demolition operation in the Palestinian village of al-Araqib in the occupied Negev, southern Palestine, destroying homes and shelters amid longstanding efforts to displace the village’s residents, local sources reported.
Israeli bulldozers, accompanied by Israeli occupation forces and security units, entered the village in the early hours and began tearing down residential structures. Al-Araqib is an unrecognized Bedouin community that has faced repeated demolition orders for years.
Residents said the latest operation marks the 244th time Israeli occupation has demolished the village.
The previous demolition took place on July 28, 2025, when al-Araqib was razed for the 243rd time.
The destruction is the tenth demolition carried out in the village since the start of 2025, targeting tents and simple homes that residents repeatedly rebuild after each operation.
Al-Araqib has endured relentless demolitions over the past several years, with 11 recorded in 2024, 11 in 2023, 15 in 2022, and 14 in 2021.
Villagers say the repeated demolitions are aimed at wearing down the community and forcing residents to leave their ancestral land.
Israeli occupation first demolished al-Araqib on July 27, 2010. Despite the repeated destruction, residents have continued to reconstruct their homes after each demolition, insisting on remaining on their land in defiance of ongoing displacement efforts.
