Palestinian Prisoner Support and Human Rights Association Addameer on Wednesday said that the four Palestinian detainees suspected of having contracted coronavirus (Covid-19) are held in quarantine in inhumane condition at the Israeli Ramle prison clinic.
Addameer said that its lawyer Samer Sam'an managed to speak through a phone call to three of the prisoners and they informed him that they were not tested for the coronavirus disease. Their temperature is taken twice a day, and no other medical tests have been made so far.
Sam'an was able to talk to the prisoners put in quarantine only after Addameer had repeatedly filed requests to the Israeli military prosecution to communicate with the detainees and check on them.
The four detainees were moved on Thursday, 19 March, from Petah Tikva interrogation center to Ramle prison clinic without being informed about the reason behind the transfer. They later knew that they were suspected of contracting coronavirus from an Israeli interrogator working there.
