DaysofPal- Senior Hamas official Husam Badran stated on Thursday that Hamas’s response to U.S. President Donald Trump’s peace plan was developed through broad consultation with Palestinian factions and national figures, ensuring it represented a unified Palestinian perspective.
In a televised speech, Badran, who heads Hamas’s National Relations Office and is a member of its political bureau, said that from the moment Trump’s proposal was announced, Hamas engaged in extensive outreach to build national consensus.
“We communicated with factions and independent leaders, held meetings, exchanged messages, and worked continuously to form a collective Palestinian position,” he said.
Badran stressed that Hamas’s stance was shaped through these consultations and remained aligned with a broader national dialogue during negotiations held in Sharm El-Sheikh.
He emphasized that the movement remains committed to inclusive talks in Cairo to address all aspects of the agreement and ensure future plans reflect collective Palestinian interests.
“Any decision must come from a unified Palestinian position that includes all factions, key national figures, and the broader Palestinian public,” Badran affirmed.
He described the October 7, 2023, Aqsa Flood operation as a historic turning point in the struggle against Israeli occupation.
“That day showed the world that our people deserve freedom, self-determination, and the right to build a state on their occupied land,” he said.
Badran credited the latest developments in the ceasefire process to the resilience of the people in Gaza and the sacrifices made by fighters and civilians alike.
He praised both the fallen and surviving resistance fighters for their determination and defense of Palestinian land, identity, and cause.
He concluded by underlining the power of national unity.
“When we stand together, we are stronger and more capable of achieving our national goals,” Badran said.
“What we have accomplished, and what lies ahead, is possible because of the steadfastness of our people and the collective efforts of all Palestinians. Together, we continue to hold onto hope as we strive for a free and just Palestinian state on all our occupied land.” He added.
