DaysofPal- The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) welcomed today, Friday, the positions issued by several European countries calling for an end to the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip and the lifting of the siege. Hamas described these positions as a “cry of conscience” in the face of the ongoing crimes of the occupation.
In a press statement, the movement praised what it considered a “humanitarian and courageous stance” by Spain, Norway, Iceland, Ireland, Luxembourg, Malta, and Slovenia, following a joint statement that condemned the Israeli escalation in Gaza and the West Bank and called for a complete lifting of the siege.
Hamas also commended the statements of French President Emmanuel Macron, who called for an immediate ceasefire and the lifting of the siege on Gaza and condemned the occupation’s actions against Palestinian civilians. Hamas regarded these positions as part of a growing European rejection of what it described as the “criminal war” on the Gaza Strip.
The movement stated that such positions “expose the falsehood of the enemy’s narrative” and affirm that the world has begun to hear Gaza’s voice. It called on world leaders to take urgent action to “stop the massacres and end the siege,” and to hold Israel accountable for what it described as war crimes.
Hamas further called for a unified Arab stance capable of exerting pressure on Israel to halt the “genocidal war” and to ensure the entry of urgent humanitarian and medical aid, in light of what it called a catastrophic deterioration threatening the lives of millions of civilians, especially children and women.
