DaysofPal- The leaders of seven European countries have condemned the humanitarian catastrophe being committed by the Israeli occupation in the Gaza Strip, calling for an immediate end to the aggression and the full lifting of the blockade on the territory.
In a joint statement issued on Friday, the leaders of Spain, Norway, Iceland, Ireland, Luxembourg, Malta, and Slovenia declared:
“We will not remain silent in the face of the humanitarian catastrophe unfolding before our eyes in Gaza.”
They stressed that more than 50,000 people have lost their lives in Gaza, and warned that many more may die of hunger unless urgent action is taken.
Spain Calls for Immediate Halt to Attacks on Civilians
In their statement, the European leaders urged the Israeli occupation to immediately reverse its current policies, lift the siege on Gaza completely, and ensure the unhindered delivery of humanitarian aid.
The leaders also condemned the escalating Israeli violence in the West Bank and the increasing settler attacks, calling for a return to adherence to a ceasefire.
Meanwhile, the Israeli military has intensified its assault across various parts of the Gaza Strip, with over 100 Palestinians killed since early Friday morning in targeted strikes on different areas.
