In Gaza, fear is everywhere — and there’s nowhere left to run.
With Israeli forces advancing further into the Strip and no designated humanitarian zones available, Palestinians are trapped in shrinking, overcrowded spaces. Many have fled to areas like Khan Younis, only to find themselves once again at risk after Israeli troops took control of Rafah, Gaza’s last border crossing.
Movement within Gaza is nearly impossible due to the Netzarim Corridor, a military-controlled route that has severed access between the northern and southern parts of the enclave.
Meanwhile, thousands of Palestinians are being pushed into the western outskirts of Gaza City, an area already overwhelmed by displacement and destruction.
Amid renewed Israeli military preparations — including the call-up of thousands of reservists — fear is mounting.
But for many in Gaza, this is yet another chapter in a war that has dragged on for over 470 days, bringing relentless bombings, repeated displacement, and staggering loss.
“There’s no safe place,” one resident said. “We’ve lived through the worst already — and we’re still waiting, just hoping for any good news.”
Gaza’s civilians are not just running out of space. They’re running out of options.
