DaysofPal – Ongoing Israeli military operations in the northern West Bank are crippling the agricultural sector, preventing hundreds of Palestinian farmers from reaching their lands, the General Federation of Palestinian Trade Unions warned Tuesday.
Israeli occupation forces have stormed Al-Far’a refugee camp and the town of Tammun, bulldozing roads and farmland, destroying a main water pipeline in Atouf Valley, and imposing curfews.
As a result, farmers have been unable to access their fields in Atouf, where daily labor is essential for harvesting crops.
The closure of Wadi Al-Far’a Road has also cut off access to Samit Valley, leaving hundreds more workers stranded.
Meanwhile, intensified Israeli raids across Jenin Governorate have disrupted farming, destroyed infrastructure, and crippled local agricultural markets.
The union condemned Israel’s systematic economic warfare, citing the destruction of local industries, control over markets and border crossings, and severe restrictions on Palestinian agricultural zones.
For the third consecutive day, Israeli forces have stormed Tammun and Al-Far’a, conducting mass arrests, raiding homes, and targeting civilian infrastructure.
The ongoing military assault—launched on January 21 in Jenin Refugee Camp—has since spread to Tulkarm, Tubas, and other northern West Bank areas.
At least 71 Palestinians have been killed in the West Bank this year, with dozens more wounded. The escalating Israeli offensive has also displaced hundreds of families, devastated roads and farmland, and tightened movement restrictions across occupied Palestinian territories.
