DaysofPal- At least ten Palestinian citizens were killed, and four others sustained serious injuries on Wednesday night when an Israeli drone strike targeted them in the town of Tamun, southeast of Tubas in the occupied West Bank, according to medical sources.
Local sources identified the deceased as Omar Bisharat, 28, Abdullah Bani Awda, 22, Mohammed Bani Awda, 36, Ibrahim Bani Awda, 33, Osama Bani Awda, 19, Muntaser Bani Matar, 25, Abdul-Rahman Khatib, 20, Saleh Bani Matar, 19, Suleiman Bisharat, 22, and Jihad Bani Matar, 18.
All the victims were reportedly members of the Tamun Brigade, a local resistance group led by Omar Bisharat.
In a parallel development, the Palestinian Authority security forces have also been pursuing members of the Tamun Brigade. Last Tuesday, they opened fire on and injured one of the group’s members before arresting him.
Around 900 Palestinians have been killed, 6,700 have been injured, and 14,300 have been arrested as a result of the Israeli army and settlers’ increased attacks in the occupied West Bank since October 7, 2023, according to official Palestinian sources.
Meanwhile, a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip took effect on January 19, 2025. The first phase is set to last 42 days, during which negotiations will take place to initiate a second and then a third phase, mediated by Egypt, Qatar, and the United States.
On October 7, 2023, the Israeli forces, with U.S. support, carried out a genocide in Gaza. Approximately 159,000 Palestinians were killed in the attack, the majority of whom were women and children, and over 14,000 people went missing, making it one of the worst humanitarian disasters in modern history.
