DaysofPal- Israeli forces launched a devastating attack on the al-Mawasi area in Khan Yunis, southern Gaza Strip, on Sunday night, targeting a tent camp designated as a humanitarian “safe zone.”
The assault resulted in the killing of at least eleven Palestinian civilians, including a girl child, and injured dozens more, some critically.
fLocal and medical sources confirmed that Israeli drones bombed the tents sheltering displaced families, causing widespread fires and destruction. The attack ignited several tents, leaving only their metal frames and engulfing the area in a large, dark plume of smoke.
Graphic footage verified by Al Jazeera captured the harrowing aftermath of the attack. The videos show desperate attempts by locals to rescue those trapped in the fires. Scenes depict people screaming for help, with one man urging others to “Go, go, take out those who are in there!”
Another man is seen using a fire extinguisher to combat the flames as people climb over rubble to save an unconscious person.
In the meantime, the Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza is still in terrible shape, with bodies piled up in the corridors since yesterday because the continuous bombardment has prevented their interment.
Numerous patients and medical personnel are still stranded inside the hospital, suffering from acute food, water, and electricity shortages, according to witnesses, depriving them of necessities.
This attack marks yet another grim chapter in the escalating violence in Gaza, where civilians seeking refuge have become victims of relentless bombardments.
