DaysofPal- The Israeli occupation forces on Sunday evening set a commercial truck carrying goods on fire near the “Dawla” junction in the Zeitoun neighborhood, south of Gaza City.
The truck, which belonged to the private sector, was en route to southern Gaza, an area enduring intense bombardment as part of the ongoing war.
Eyewitnesses reported that the truck was intercepted by Israeli forces, who deliberately set it ablaze while the vehicle was traveling along Salah al-Din Street.
This attack is part of the broader military operations in Gaza, which have been ongoing for over 14 months, with increasing civilian casualties and damage to infrastructure.
Israeli forces reportedly forced the driver of a commercial truck carrying food supplies to exit the vehicle before taking him to an undisclosed location. Subsequently, the vehicle was set on fire near the “Dawla” junction in Gaza’s Zeitoun neighborhood. Such trucks are vital for transporting food in the besieged region.
Later, Israeli warplanes targeted vehicles in Rafah’s Khirbet al-Adas area, killing at least ten civilians and injuring several others. Eyewitnesses described chaotic scenes, with civilian cars bombed without warning.
Israeli forces also attacked the Indonesian Hospital in northern Gaza, injuring six patients, including one in critical condition, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health. The attack further highlights the dire situation faced by Gaza’s already struggling healthcare system, which has been severely affected by ongoing conflict and blockades.
In response, the ministry called for international protection for hospitals, patients, and medical staff. It also emphasized the urgent need for safe passage to and from medical facilities and the provision of essential supplies, including medicines, medical equipment, fuel, and logistical services, to ensure the functioning of healthcare services and the safe evacuation of the wounded.
This attack occurred amid an ongoing humanitarian crisis, with Rafah overcrowded due to earlier evacuations prompted by Israeli orders. Some areas previously designated as “safe zones” became the site of deadly airstrikes, compounding the civilian toll.
