DayofPal– At least 25 displaced Palestinians were reportedly killed after Israeli air force carried out two consecutive strikes on Mawasi Khan Younis area in southern Gaza Strip this evening.
According to Civil Defense crews, multiple makeshift tents caught fire due to the sudden attack and the emergency teams can barely control the fire while undertaking life-saving measures.
Children were among those who were killed in the Israeli bombardment of the tented camp, according to a spokesperson for Gaza’s Civil Defense teams, who revealed that the Israeli army was well aware that there are only civilians in Al-Mawasi.
Videos displayed charred bodies of children being retrieved following the massacre with many civilians’ bodies were torn into pieces and placed in bags. Many people were still inside their tents when the fire broke out.
Eyewitnesses said the number of casualties has been increasing, with more wounded people dying at the hospital because they are coming in with severe injuries and severe burns due to the intensity of the explosion. In addition, the wounded people may lose their lives because there is no medical care, medical supplies and insufficient medical staff at hospitals.
Israel designated Mawasi Khan Younis as a “humanitarian area, yet this is not the first time it hit the zone. In the initial weeks of this genocidal war, the Israeli army ordered Gaza residents to flee their homes towards Al-Mawasi in order to avoid being bombed, but they repeatedly find themselves the victims of such unpredictable attacks.
