DaysofPal- The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) executed three Palestinians from Jabalia, in the northern Gaza Strip, moments after their release in the Sudanese area, northwest of Gaza City.
Chairman of the Commission of Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners Affairs, Qadura Fares, said that the incident came as part of the Israeli revenge policy against Palestinians.
The IOF released the three mentioned detainees on Saturday, and as they attempted to head west toward a safer area, Israeli soldiers opened fire on them, executing them shortly after their release.
Fares condemned the Israeli execution of the Palestinians, calling it a clear and blatant crime of execution.
He emphasized that the aim of such actions is to take revenge on the Palestinian people, noting that there is no military or security justification for the Israeli heinous crimes against Palestinians, whether they are inside prisons or outside, highlighting the senselessness and brutality of the act.
Moreover, Fares pointed out that the Israeli atrocities against civilians in Gaza are mirrored inside Israeli prisons.
He highlighted the widespread use of terrorizing tactics, torture, isolation, starvation, and the deprivation of medical treatment and family visits as part of the systematic abuse Palestinians face in detention, adding that these practices contribute to the ongoing suffering of Palestinians, both within the Gaza Strip and in Israeli prisons.
Fares explained that the international community’s silence regarding the Israeli crimes has emboldened Israel to carry out increasingly brutal actions, calling for urgent intervention to halt the genocide both inside and outside the prisons.
During its ongoing genocide in northern Gaza, which has lasted for more than a month, the IOF carried out extensive arrest campaigns that affected hundreds of Palestinians, including dozens of medical staff.
To this day, there is no information available about who were recently arrested, being victims of enforced disappearance, with their families and communities unaware of their condition or whereabouts.
Furthermore, there is no clear estimate of the number of detainees from Gaza held in Israeli prisons and camps as institutions have been unable to monitor the number of arrests, as IOF have imposed the crime of enforced disappearance on detainees in the Gaza Strip since the beginning of the war on October 7, 2023.
Thousands are believed to be arrested in Israeli jails, with families and organizations unable to obtain any information about their whereabouts or detention conditions.
The testimonies and accounts of detainees in Gaza have demonstrated a notable change in the degree of violence committed by the Israeli occupation forces.
These accounts demonstrate a hitherto unseen rise in famine, torture, and abuse. Sexual assaults, systematic medical neglect, and the use of detainees as human shields have also been reported.
