The UN has called for an immediate and transparent investigation into the Qabatia incident in which Israeli soldiers abused the bodies of three Palestinian young men after killing them in Qabatiya town, north of the occupied West Bank.
In a news conference on Friday, UN spokesperson Stephane Dujarric described the footage as “frankly grotesque and inhumane,” emphasizing the urgent need for a transparent investigation into the incident.
He raised concerns about the escalating Israeli violence in the occupied West Bank and called for accountability for those responsible for the incident.
Israeli forces’ latest raid on the West Bank town of Qabatiya resulted in the death of at least seven Palestinians. Disturbing video footage surfaced showing soldiers pushing the lifeless bodies of three victims off a rooftop.
Local reports affirmed that three of the deceased were shot on the rooftop of a house before their bodies were thrown over and then lifted away by a military bulldozer.
