The UN agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA) declared that more than 355,000 children have been vaccinated as the ongoing polio vaccination drive continues in southern Gaza.
The agency said in a post on X that the campaign, now focused in southern Gaza, will continue over the next few days, to reach its target of 640,000 children under age of 10 in the enclave.
The Palestinian Health Ministry has decried that Israel’s army has refused to coordinate the entry of medical teams into some areas of southern Gaza.

The agency official Juliette Touma told New York Times that the conditions in Gaza unfit for humans.
“The war in Gaza zreated the conditions for a resurgence of polio. Due to forced displacement, people live in cramped tents with little access to clean water and basic needs,” she added.
