In a harrowing continuation of its 157-day war on Gaza, the Israeli occupation forces persist in unleashing genocidal warfare and starvation upon the Gaza Strip. As Ramadan unfolds, the war shows no signs of abating, leaving a trail of devastation in its wake.
Escalation of Violence
Amidst the ongoing assault, Israeli Apache helicopters and warplanes struck Gaza City, targeting residential areas and civilian infrastructure. The Zaytoun neighborhood witnessed yet another massacre, claiming the lives of 17 innocent Palestinians.
Tragedy struck at Kamal Adwan Hospital in Beit Lahia, as two children succumbed to malnutrition and medical shortages. With the loss of three more children, the toll of fatalities due to malnutrition rises to 21, highlighting the deepening humanitarian crisis gripping the region.
Relentless Attacks
Israeli naval vessels intensified their barrage along the coast, while artillery fire rained down on the Shati refugee camp and the Sudanese area. In Al-Qarara, north of Khan Younis, civilians bore the brunt of Israeli shelling, sustaining multiple injuries.
Israeli military invasion extended eastward towards Khan Younis, with airstrikes targeting the city of Hamad. Deir al-Balah in central Gaza bore the brunt of artillery shelling, underscoring the relentless nature of the occupation’s aggression.
Rising Death Toll
As the violence escalates, more lives are lost, with casualties mounting from Israeli attacks on residential areas. In Rafah, three sisters tragically lost their lives in an Israeli airstrike, further compounding the human tragedy unfolding in Gaza.
Despite international outcry and calls for an end to the violence, the death toll continues to rise, reaching a staggering 31,112 martyrs since the onset of the Israeli aggression. The majority of victims are children and women, underscoring the disproportionate impact of the conflict on Gaza’s most vulnerable populations.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health pointed out that 72% of the victims of the ongoing Israeli military aggression are children and women, with the death toll from malnutrition and drought rising to 25 martyrs.
