The Israeli occupation persists in implementing its policy of starvation against more than 9,100 Palestinian prisoners, including women, children, and the sick.
Worsening Conditions
According to a statement issued by the Palestinian Prisoners Club on Monday, March 11th, Israel continues to restrict prisoners’ religious practices, including prayer, the call to prayer, and Quranic recitation.
The policy of starvation has intensified since October 7th due to various measures, including the closure of canteens and the confiscation of remaining food supplies, resulting in reduced meals and poor quality food, exacerbating their plight.
Torture and Mistreatment
The starvation policy, along with torture and mistreatment, has posed significant health problems, particularly in the digestive system, for all prisoners, including women, children, and detainees.
Since the beginning of the Israeli war on Gaza on October 7th, the occupation has arrested 7,530 Palestinians, some of whom have been released, while others remain in detention.
Rising Death Toll
Since October 7th, the number of martyrs announced as having died in Israeli prisons and detention camps has reached 12, including four from Gaza.
The latest was identified as the elderly Ahmed Razek Qadeeh. The identity of one martyr remains unknown, bringing the total number of prisoners who died in captivity to 24.
As Ramadan approaches this year, the Israeli occupation continues destructive war against Gaza since October 7th, leaving 31,112 martyrs and 72,760 injured, most of whom are women and children, in addition to an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe and massive infrastructure destruction.
