Israeli occupation forces conducted raids and arrested 12 Palestinians from different areas in the West Bank and Jerusalem in the early hours of Wednesday morning, August 2, 2023.
The arrests coincided with Israeli forces’ incursion into a house in the Ein el-Sultan refugee camp in occupied Jericho.
According to local sources, the Israeli forces entered the Ein el-Sultan refugee camp in Jericho aiming at arresting individuals. This led to intense armed confrontations with resistance fighters.
Among those arrested were Saed Hassani, Mohammed Hassani, Zakaria Hassani, and Saleh Mohammed Shalon, all from the Ein el-Sultan refugee camp in Jericho.
In Bethlehem, the Israeli forces arrested two brothers, Ashraf and Shadi Ali Asakra, after conducting a search at their family home.
Additionally, four teenagers were arrested in Hebron: Nizar Shhadeh Abu Aisha, Tamer Khamis Abu Aisha, Hamza Siaj, and Ahmed Fayez Rabai from the town of Dura in the southern region.
Moreover, two young men, Suhayb Nofal and Adnan Shawish, were arrested in the town of Anata, northeast of Jerusalem, following raids on their homes and searches, during which their belongings were tampered with.
Israeli forces continue to engage in semi-daily incursions and arrests across the West Bank, perpetuating a climate of fear and instability for Palestinian communities. These routine operations involve raids on Palestinian homes, arbitrary detentions, and the disruption of daily life.
Significantly, IOF carried out a substantial wave of arrests during the month of June, targeting a total of 380 Palestinians, including 45 children and 10 women, across the West Bank, Jerusalem, and the Gaza Strip, as documented by the Palestinian Center for Prisoners’ Studies
