Netanyahu Determined to Push Forward Controversial Legislation Despite Protests

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has opted to delay a meeting regarding a proposal to partition the occupied West Bank into two separate regions.

Senior members of Israel’s Likud party revealed Friday, July 14, 2033, that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu intends to proceed with the legislation to cancel the unreasonable pretext, even if protests escalate to the levels witnessed in March when the laws were temporarily suspended in the Knesset, according to Hebrew newspaper “Haaretz”.

Despite widespread public opposition and pressure from the US administration to halt the proposed judicial amendments, Netanyahu appeared disinterested in the significant protests against the plan, as well as the demands from major companies threatening to move their funds out of “Israel”.

Likud leaders conveyed to Haaretz that Netanyahu’s determination stems from concerns over the threat of reservists in the Air Force and other military units refusing to volunteer for service.

As long as these threats remain at the same level as in March, Netanyahu remains undeterred by the protest demonstrations.

In closed-door discussions, Netanyahu expressed his belief that “the state can function without certain elements, but it cannot govern without a government,” as reported by journalist Ami Segal in his weekly article in “Yedioth Ahronoth” today.

Segal suggested that Netanyahu is prepared to resist any further calls for collective service.

While Likud leaders could not indicate a specific “red line” that would prompt Netanyahu to suspend the legislation, they acknowledged the existence of such a line.

One source stated, “The future remains uncertain, and we cannot predict the state’s condition in the coming days or the extent of the turmoil and its impact on Netanyahu.”
