The Department of Culture and Arts at the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas condemned the statements of American actor Jon Voight, who praised Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday, June 12, 2023.
In a statement, the Department of Culture and Arts pointed out that the American artist turned a blind eye to the crimes of the Zionist occupation against the Palestinian people, such as killing unarmed civilians, demolishing their homes over their heads, and displacing millions from their homes outside Palestine.
“We had hoped that the American representative would see the massacres of the Zionist occupation against our defenseless people and move away from blind siding with the State of Israel, which was built on the remains, blood, and destruction of the peaceful State of Palestine,” the statement read.
Earlier on Saturday, Jon Voight, one of Hollywood’s stars, praised the Zionist Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as a blessing and that the State of Israel is a source of light for the nations around it.
