Israeli occupation forces IOF have demolished 136 Palestinian homes and structures since the start of 2023, according to the Palestinian Information Center Moata.
Moata documented Israel’s demolishing of 135 homes and apartments in the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem so far in 2023.
The report revealed that 10 of the homes were owned by families of Palestinian freedom fighters killed or detained by Israeli occupation forces.
Since 1967, Israel has implemented a policy where houses of Palestinian freedom fighters, killed or detained by Israeli forces, are demolished as a measure of punishment.
The Moata report revealed that 64 homes were demolished in Jerusalem, 19 in Jericho, 18 in Hebron, 7 in Bethlehem, and one in each Tubas and Qalqilia.
In addition, the Israeli troops have demolished 17 homes in Nablus, 4 in Ramallah, 2 in Salfit, and three others in Jenin.
Furthermore, IOF demolished 112 properties and structures used for agricultural and commercial purposes and confiscated 29 others only in May 2023.
Israel used various means and pretexts to demolish Palestinian homes. Most of the Palestinian homes are demolished under the pretext of building without a permit or in favor of settlement expansion.
