Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu revealed that talks are going on with the Gaza-based resistance movement Hamas on conducting a new prisoners exchange swap on Sunday, May 7.
Channel 12 news reported that Netanyahu said that Israel was moving close to a deal, without providing further details about the talks.
Nenatayu made his remarks during a cabinet meeting to discuss Israel’s retention of bodies of slain Palestinians killed by Israeli occupation forces IOF.
No progress has been announced so far. However, Israeli sources said that officials stated that Hamas showed flexibility during the talks.
The long history of Israeli arrests against Palestinian men, women, children, and elderly pushed resistance movements in Gaza to capture Israeli soldiers infiltrating Gaza borders.
Israeli occupation authorities hold some 4900 Palestinians in its prisons, including 160 children and 29 women under harsh conditions, according to data by the Palestinian Prisoner Society PPS.
Meanwhile, Israel claims that the Hamas movement in the Gaza Strip holds two Israeli soldiers and the remains of two others killed during the 2014 Israeli offensive against Gaza.
On the other part, Hamas has published two videos of two captured soldiers confirming that they are still alive.
