Israeli police said they have detained Adnan again, just a day after he was released from Israeli custody. Police said Adnan was detained Monday in Jerusalem's Old City because he didn't have an Israeli permit to be in the area. Khader Adnan, a 44–year–old Palestinian, is still on a hunger strike for the 14th consecutive day to demonstrate against his imprisonment by the Israeli occupation without any legal proceedings.

On February 5, Israeli occupation forces unit raided Adnan‘s residence in Arraba, near Jenin, and arrested him. Immediately upon his apprehension, he began a hunger strike in protest. Israeli soldiers who carried out the raid vandalized and thoroughly searched his home.

Adnan, who was previously detained in Israeli prisons, has been apprehended twelve times by the Israeli occupation forces throughout the past two decades, and has served a total of eight years in prison.

Adnan partook in four hunger strikes while imprisoned. His 2012 hunger strike, which went on for 67 days, propelled a large number of Palestinians detained without charge to follow his lead.
