Dozens of Palestinians on Tuesday night, January 17, were reported injured following the Israeli settlers’ raids into Joseph’s Tomb in the occupied West Bank city of Nablus.
Dozens of Israeli settlers, guarded by Israeli forces, invaded last night Joseph’s Tomb in occupied Nablus, which triggered confrontations in the area.
The Israeli forces attacked Palestinians who came to protest against the settlers’ invasion, targeting them with tear gas canisters and rubber-coated metal bullets.
Palestinian Red Crescent reported on Tuesday night that the Israeli forces attacked and injured 43 Palestinians during the settlers’ incursion into Joseph’s Tomb in occupied Nablus.
The Red Crescent pointed out that 35 Palestinians suffered breathing problems as Israeli forces fired tear gas canisters. Five others sustained injuries from rubber-coated metal bullets fired by the Israeli forces.
It added that an Israeli gas grenade directly hit a Palestinian citizen ahead of the incursion, causing him a broken foot. The medical sources transferred him to Rafidia hospital for treatment.
Joseph’s Tomb is located on the eastern side of Nablus, which is under full Palestinian control. Since 1967, Israeli settlers consider it a holy place.
Multiple incursions carried out by settlers since 1967 have always triggered confrontations and injuries among Palestinians who protested against the settlers’ invasion.
