Israeli occupation forces (IOF) detained at dawn on Thursday, January 12, 2022, 18 Palestinian citizens during raids in several areas of the occupied West Bank.
According to the Palestinian Prisoners’ Information Office, the occupation forces detained 14 citizens from Qalandia camp, north of occupied Jerusalem, including the ex-detainee Osama Naim Hamad, the ex-detainee Shafiq, Moatasem, and Adham Awad, in addition to the ex-detainee Karim and Ihab Abu Latifa.
It explained that among the detainees in Qalandia camp were the boy Adam Badran, Ramzi Aslan, Iyad Mutair, Ahmed Amtir, Kamal Abu Ghuwaila, Ali Zayed, Mustafa al-Juri, and Muhammad Salah al-Juri.
The occupation arrested Mahmoud and Ahmed Jalham from the Dheisheh refugee camp, south of Bethlehem, and Bakr Qawar from Bethlehem, in addition to Hussein Ali Zamari from the city of Qalqilya.
It’s noteworthy that the Israeli occupation forces launch daily arrest campaigns in the cities of the West Bank, practice methods of investigation against them, and detain them in detention centers in poor conditions.
Until the end of December 2022, the number of Palestinian detainees in the occupation prisons reached 4,700 detainees, including 29 female prisoners and 150 children, and about 850 administrative detainees, including 7 children, two females, and 15 journalists, according to human rights organizations specialized in the Palestinian detainees’ affairs.
