The Lebanese international tennis champion Mohamed Ataya withdrew from the final of the Cyprus International Championship, refusing to face an Israeli player in support of the Palestinian cause, Wednesday, 16 November 2022.
Yanal Solh a member of the Lebanese Parliamentary Youth and Sports Committee confirmed that the Lebanese international tennis champion Mohamed Ataya joined the list of honors with a high rank and recorded a new honorable position in the face of the illegal Israeli occupation.
Solh congratulated Ataya on this position which expresses the position of all free Lebanese, stressing that “this is our firm position rejecting all forms of normalization and it is also an affirmation of our permanent standing with our cause that was is and will continue, Palestine.”
