The Palestinian Commission for Detainees and Ex-Prisoners Affairs said on Monday, October 17, 2022, that the Israeli occupation is holding 28 Palestinian female prisoners inside the Damon prison, including two female prisoners in administrative detention and a female prisoner, who are facing harsh conditions at various humanitarian, living, and health levels.
The commission indicated that among the female detainees, the minor Nafth Hammad (15 years), from the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood in the occupied city of Jerusalem, was detained by the occupation army at the end of last year, while she was still studying.
It added that despite the young age of detainee Hammad, she was subjected to beating, assault, and abuse during her detention and interrogation. She is still in custody and no verdict has been issued against her, knowing that she has a court session this month.
In addition, two female prisoners are under administrative detention, Shurooq Al-Badan from Tekoa and Bushra Al-Taweel from the city of Ramallah. The occupation deprives them of their freedom without bringing specific charges against them, and the occupation courts renewed administrative detention orders against them several times and for different periods.
