Days of Palestine, Jerusalem -Israeli occupation approved on Wednesday final stage of plan to construct landfill for the use of Jewish communities in and around Jerusalem.
A human rights group specialised in disclosing Israeli colonisation plan said that the Israeli Planning and Construction Committee in the Israeli Municipality of Jerusalem announced the approval on the Jewish weekly of Kol Ha’ir early this week.
The landfill, which was approved, is located on the Palestinian lands of Palestinian towns of Al-Issawiya, Shufat and Anata at the northern part of Jerusalem.

Monitoring the Israeli Colonisation Activities, the rights group, said that the landfill would be built on 516.8 dunams of Palestinian lands, noting that the Israeli occupation authorities already changed the status of the meant lands from open area to landfill area in February 2012.

Residents of the three aforementioned Palestinian towns protested against the Israeli plan to establish the landfill on their own lands, but the Israeli occupation ignored their protests and sometimes violently suppressed them.
Israeli environment-related groups appealed for the Israeli authorities to cancel the plan to establish this landfill in this area due to “significant consequences which will cast its shadow over their life in their villages, towns and neighbourhoods.”
The rights group said that “the Israeli expropriation of the Palestinian lands constitute a flagrant and grave breach for the International law rules and conventions.”
It said that it is a violation of several articles of the Fourth Convention, The Hague Convention 1907 and the Universal Human Rights Declaration adopted by Israel, which reads: “No one shall be arbitrarily deprived of his property.”
