The Russian Federation expressed its deep concern over the developments in the Gaza Strip, stressing its supportive stance towards achieving the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state on the 1967 borders on the basis of Security Council and United Nations General Assembly resolutions
The Russian Foreign Ministry said in a press statement, published by the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), that “the Israeli Air Force’s attacks on the Gaza Strip yesterday, Friday, led to a new wave of escalation of tension that threatens to turn into a large-scale military confrontation and the deterioration of the deteriorating humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip
The ministry stressed that Russia supports reaching a comprehensive and long-term settlement of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict on the basis of the two-state solution
It affirmed Russia’s position in support of realizing the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people in establishing an independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders on the basis of Security Council and United Nations General Assembly resolution
