Dalal Awawdeh, the wife of the Palestinian prisoner on hunger strike Khalil Awawda against his administrative detention inside Israeli prison, Khalil Awawda (40 years), from Ithna town, west of Hebron in the occupied West Bank, warned of the death of her husband, 150 days after his strike, as a result of the continuation of his strike and his refusal to receive medical treatment and support, appealing to save him before his death.

Awawdeh explained that her husband was urgently transferred last Wednesday from Ramle Prison to Assaf Harofeh Hospital, after his health condition deteriorated, as he was in an already difficult health condition. He was offered supplies and treatment in order to keep him in the hospital, but Khalil refuses to receive any of that before his demands are met.”

Dalal Awawdeh indicated that Assaf Harofeh Hospital issued a report and handed it over to the Israeli occupation court, where the report confirmed the possibility of Khalil’s sudden death unexpectedly, and that his deteriorating health condition was evident without conducting examinations. The control, in clear recklessness, aimed at eliminating Khalil Awawdeh, according to his wife.

Dalal Awawdeh confirmed that her husband, as a result of the five-month strike, including 111 consecutive days, took aid, then resumed his strike on the second of this month, and currently, his health is deteriorating daily, which makes us expect his death at any moment, and the fear for his health is very great.

Awawdeh said: “We knocked on every door of everyone from international and human rights institutions, Palestinian official bodies, factions, and Palestinian leaders to save his life, but no one moved, and we confirm that leaving Khalil until he reached 150 days of strike, made him easy prey to the Israeli occupation, threatening his life.”

The prisoner suspended his hunger strike on the twenty-first of last June, after 111 days, following verbal promises to release him on the twenty-sixth of that same month. Once again, his administrative detention was extended for four months, and when he learned on the first of this month, that deception announced the resumption of his strike the next day.

It is noteworthy that the prisoner, Raed Rayan, from the town of Beit Duqqu, northwest of Jerusalem, suspended his open hunger strike, which lasted for 113 days, the day before yesterday, Thursday, with an agreement to limit his administrative detention
