Days of Palestine, West Bank –Palestinian official said on Wednesday that Israeli occupation has arrested more than a million Palestinians since 1948.
Head of Palestinian Prisoners’ Committee Isa Qaraqei said that almost all those arrested were subject to savage Israeli torture while being arrested and inside the prisons.
In a statement issued to mark the 67th anniversary of the Palestinian Nakba, Qaraqei said that the retention of the Israeli occupation is retention of the Palestinian Nakba.
He said that the Israeli occupation violates international law regarding the occupation of Palestinian lands and torture of Palestinian prisoners.
“Continuous Israeli occupation of the Palestinian land and Israeli insistence to torture Palestinian prisoners inside their jails proves that the Israelis are occupying the whole world,” he said.
Qaraqei said that the world remains silent towards the continuous Israeli crimes carried out by the Israeli occupation against the whole Palestinian nation.
He called for the international community and all human rights bodies around the world to highlight the Israeli violations against the Palestinians and work on ending the Israeli occupation and its violations.
