At least 15 Palestinians were reportedly killed and dozens were injured on Thursday in an Israeli attack on Jabalia’s Hafsa Al-Faluja School, according to Gaza’s civil defense.
The casualties included women and children, and many dozens were wounded, some severely, as the search continued for many missing under the rubble.
Footage of the attack’s aftermath displayed frantic scenes in the school’s vicinity, with rescuers carrying dead bodies and maimed victims on stretchers away from the rubble.
Israel has repeatedly attacked schools-turned-shelters during its war on Gaza, giving no evidence for its claims that Hamas fighters are embedded in the facilities.
One of its latest such attacks hit a Gaza City school on September 21, killing 22 people, including 13 children, six women, and a three-month-old baby, according to the Gaza Government Media Office.
Ongoing Israeli shelling in central and southern Gaza has killed 13 civilians and injured dozens on Thursday.
Local sources also reported that the Israeli warplanes targeted a residential home east of Khan Younis with missiles, killing six Palestinians and injuring others.
The Ministry of Health stated that the Israeli forces have committed four new massacres against Palestinian families in the Gaza enclave in the past 24 hours, resulting in 125 casualties.
The death toll resulted from ongoing Israeli attacks on Gaza since last October has gone up to 41,534. Another 96,092 people have been wounded in these attacks, the Health Ministry said.
