DaysofPal – The Government Media Office in the Gaza Strip said that Israeli forces committed 1,244 violations of the ceasefire during its first phase, resulting in the killing, injury, and detention of 1,760 Palestinians since the truce came into effect.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the Media Office said that Israeli violations continued from the start of the ceasefire until the morning of January 15, 2026, describing them as “serious and systematic breaches” that constitute violations of international humanitarian law and undermine the humanitarian protocol attached to the ceasefire agreement.

Over 95 days, government authorities reported 1,244 violations, including 402 instances of direct gunfire against civilians, 66 military incursions into residential areas, 581 bombardment and targeting operations against civilians and their homes, and 195 instances of demolition and destruction of homes, institutions, and civilian buildings.

The Media Office said these violations resulted in the deaths of 449 Palestinians who were transferred to hospitals, the injury of 1,246 others, and the arrest of 50 people.

On the humanitarian front, the statement noted that Israel failed to adhere to the minimum levels of humanitarian aid agreed upon under the ceasefire. During the first phase, only 24,611 aid trucks entered Gaza out of a planned 57,000, averaging 259 trucks per day instead of the agreed 600, representing a compliance rate of approximately 43 percent.

The office said this shortfall has contributed to the continued severe shortages of food, medicine, water, and fuel. It added that most of the food items allowed into Gaza were of “low nutritional value,” while essential supplies were barred, describing the policy as a “systematic starvation strategy.”

Fuel deliveries during the same period totaled only 601 trucks, compared with 4,750 stipulated in the agreement. This amounted to an average of six trucks per day instead of the required 50, or roughly 12 percent compliance, leaving hospitals, bakeries, water stations, and sewage facilities in a state of near paralysis.

Regarding shelter, the Media Office warned of a worsening humanitarian crisis due to continued border closures and the ban on the entry of mobile homes, caravans, and shelter materials, coinciding with severe cold weather. It said more than 50 damaged homes and buildings collapsed as a result, causing deaths and injuries, and reported fatalities from exposure to cold among displaced people living in tents.

The statement added that more than 127,000 tents are no longer usable and incapable of providing even minimal protection for over 1.5 million displaced people.

The Government Media Office held Israel fully responsible for the ongoing deterioration of humanitarian conditions, stating that the continued violations represent a “dangerous circumvention” of the ceasefire agreement.

It called on US President Donald Trump, the agreement’s sponsors and mediators, the international community, and the United Nations to exert pressure on Israel to fully implement its obligations, ensure the protection of civilians, secure the immediate flow of humanitarian aid and fuel, and allow the entry of shelter materials as stipulated in the agreement.
