At least ten Palestinains have been killed and several injured by Israeli airstrikes on a convoy including security personnel who were on mission to secure the transportation of food trucks east of Rafah, southern Gaza strip, late Monday, June 17.
The Israeli army attack on the food trucks and security personnel in Rafah comes just a day after Israeli military announced a tactical pause along Salah a-Dine main road in Rafah, which starts at 7am and ends at 8pm until further notice, to facilitate the flow of aid trucks into the enclave, responding to a message made by Biden on the first day of Eid.
Despite of the looming severe famine in northern Gaza, extremist Israeli national security minister Itamar Ben Gvir continues to incite against Gaza Humanitarian Aid convoys, provoking gunned settlers to crack down on the aid trucks en route to Gaza.
Gaza’s government media office has condemned ‘Israel’ and the United States for “deliberately” withholding humanitarian aid from Gaza as a “tool for political pressure.”
The media office added that around 2.4 million Palestinians are living in dire conditions, with famine taking old in Gaza’s north.
Continued border closures have deprived tens of thousands of sick and wounded people of badly needed food and medicine, it said.
The Israeli army has claimed today that it control over 60 to 70 percent of the city of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip, which the military offensive has been ongoing in the city for more than 40 days.
