On the occasion of World Press Freedom Day, which falls on Wednesday, May 3, the Israeli occupation continues to detain 16 Palestinian journalists in its prisons, four of whom are under administrative detention, according to Palestinian human rights and prisoners institutions
Palestinian institutions, the Palestinian Prisoner Club, Detainees and Ex-Detainees Commission, Palestine Center for Prisoners Studies, the Palestinian Prisoner office, and others, stated that the Israeli occupation detains Palestinian journalists and strict their work as a part of the Israeli apartheid regime against the Palestinian people.
They added that the last year witnessed the highest rate of Israeli crimes against Palestinian journalists, most of which was the murder of the Palestinian journalist Shireen Abu Aqlah, amid Israeli attempts to hide the truth.
