DaysofPal- Several civilians managed to flee Jabalia in northern Gaza and move to Gaza City after the Israeli occupation troops forced them to vacate their homes under fire and non-stop shelling.
Displaced Palestinians shared disturbing details about what is going on in the Jabalia refugee camp and Beit Lahiya, especially in light of forced evacuation orders being issued to families in the north.
“Israeli troops surrounded evacuation centers and shelters and forced men to separate from women, taking them to other locations in the north,” they said.
They added that the Israeli troops dug huge holes in the ground and forced women to jump inside. Israeli tanks later started to move around these holes, throwing up huge amounts of dust as a sort of intimidation tactic.
Later, they gave the women a short amount of time to flee to Gaza City while horrific Israeli attacks were ongoing in nearby areas.
An eyewitness confirmed that over 150 Palestinians were detained in the northern parts of Gaza and taken to an unknown destination.
On a sidewalk in the courtyard of the Baptist Hospital in Gaza City, five women and a child sat, having just arrived from Jabalia camp in the northern Gaza Strip after the Israeli occupation forces forced them to flee on Tuesday.
One of them said very briefly that the Israeli occupation forces killed some men from her family in Jabalia camp, and arrested the rest through a checkpoint it had set up at the entrance to the camp “in the corridor that it claims is safe.”
She pointed to a young woman who was crying intensely and wrapping her injured hand with a medical bandage: “They arrested her fiancé, and she does not know anything about his fate.”
The Israeli occupation troops forced thousands of Palestinians in shelters in the northern Gaza Strip and in their homes on Monday and Tuesday to flee through corridors it had designated for them, claiming that they were safe.
Displaced people from the northern Gaza Strip affirmed that these paths are traps fraught with “death and danger,” as many have been arrested along them, in addition to others being executed.
Nevin Al-Dawasah, a nurse at an ambulance center in the northern Gaza Strip, recounts the “horrors” she experienced while she was in a shelter in Jabalia camp. She said that the Israeli occupation forces gave the displaced people an hour to evacuate the center on Monday, but they began bombing it after only 10 minutes, which killed 10 people and injured 30 others.
The nurse strongly denies that the corridors designated by the Israeli occupation forces are “safe,” adding, “They separated the men on one side and the women on the other and arrested more than 20 men, including a doctor.”
Al-Dawasah also pointed out that the Israeli troopers treated the women with contempt and deliberately humiliated and terrorized them.
“The soldiers told us: ‘Either you go on a path they have marked out for you, or they will snipe at you, beat you with sticks, or throw stones at you,'”she continued.
Al-Dawasah sums up the siege she was subjected to during the past few days by saying, “Days of death, bombing by booby-trapped planes and robots and quadcopters, panic, fear, artillery shelling, bombing of houses…”
For 18 days, the Israeli occupation has been waging a campaign of genocide and ethnic cleansing through the unprecedented bombing of the Jabalia camp and town and large areas in the northern Gaza Strip since its re-invasion and siege on October 6.
