Vigil in Occupied Tulkarm to Support Palestinian Prisoners

S.K | DOP -

A number of Palestinian prisoners’ families and activists in solidarity organized Tuesday, April 11, 2023, a vigil in front of the Red Cross office in occupied Tulkarem, supporting the male and female prisoners in Israeli prisons.

Palestinian protesters, who raised pictures of the prisoners, called on the International Red Cross and human rights organizations to intervene urgently and provide protection for prisoners, in light of the arbitrary practices practiced by the occupation authorities against them.

Palestinian citizens called on local and International communities to intensify popular solidarity activities to support Palestinian prisoners’ steadfastness. They also chanted slogans supporting the struggle of the prisoners emphasizing their urgent freedom, especially those who suffer health problems.

The occupation uses the policy of medical negligence as a weapon against Palestinians, by which Palestinian prisoners killed inside Israeli prisons.

As a result, the number of sick Palestinian detainees in Israeli prisons has reached about 600 detainees, including 24 detainees with tumors.

It’s worth mentioning that there are more than 29 Palestinian female prisoners in the occupation prisons, including prisoners on hunger strike led by the prisoner Khader Adnan, who entered his 65th day in a row. Moreover, there is the sick prisoner Walid Daqqa, who suffers from a very difficult health condition, which requires him a very urgent release.

The number of Palestinian detainees in Israeli occupation prisons is 4,780, including 29 females and 160 children.
