Dozens of US organizations signed a petition on Monday, June 26, 2023, calling on President Joe Biden’s administration to intervene and halt the “Israeli settler massacres” against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, following their criminal attacks on Palestinian civilians and their properties.
The petition, submitted by the institutions, highlighted that the settler attacks are carried out under the protection of the Israeli occupation forces.
The Israeli forces have been protecting settlers while they invade villages and towns in the eastern suburbs of Al-Lubban, Tormusayya, north of Ramallah, assaulting Palestinians and destroying their properties.
The petition called on President Biden’s administration to take a firm stance in light of the Israeli government’s move to expand illegal settlements.
It also called for implementing the “Leahy Law” against Israel.
This would ensure that “any funds” from US military aid to the Israeli occupation would not be used to cover the costs of military detention of children, demolishing Palestinian homes, or seizing lands.
On Wednesday, hundreds of Israeli settlers set fire to dozens of Palestinian homes and vehicles and attacked commercial stores in Tormusayya and the western village of Al-Lubban, in the northern part of the occupied West Bank.
