DaysofPal– Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), Philippe Lazzarini, stated that the Gaza Strip has become a graveyard for children, with 40 children killed every day over the past year.
Lazzarini stated in a post on his ‘X’ platform account on Wednesday, that “for three decades, the world has committed to respecting and supporting children’s rights through the adoption of the Convention on the Rights of the Child.”
The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) published a report documenting the Israeli murder of approximately 40 Palestinian children every day over the span of 411 days since the start of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip.

UNICEF spokesperson James Elder stated that “one million children in the Gaza Strip are living in hell on earth.”

“Gaza is the true embodiment of hell on earth for the one million children living there. The situation worsens with each passing day. Estimates suggest that the number of children martyred in Gaza has exceeded 17,000, equating to 35 to 40 girls and boys killed daily,” Elder added.
Elder further explained that after more than a year of war waged by Israeli occupation on the Gaza Strip, children continue to endure unimaginable daily suffering.
According to the Government Media Office, approximately 17,030 children have been killed. Among them, 171 children were born and killed during the war, and 710 children lost their lives before reaching their first birthday.
With complete US support, the Israeli occupation has waged a devastating war on Gaza since October 7, 2023, killing and injuring 146,000 Palestinians, the majority of whom are children and women. Additionally, more than 10,000 people remain missing under the rubble amid widespread destruction and a deadly famine.
Defying the international community, Israel continues its war, disregarding the UN Security Council resolution demanding an immediate cessation of hostilities and the orders of the International Court of Justice to prevent acts of genocide and address the catastrophic humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
