Children make up half of Gaza’s entire population of over two million, but none have been able to attend school since 7 October, said UNRWA chief Philippe Lazzarini.
Lazzarini told UN News during an interview in New York that “the longer the fighting goes on, the great the chance of losing an entire generation.”
Lazzarini pointed out that what impact the constant targeting of schools and civilian infrastructure was having on Gazans, as daily airstrikes continue.
He further warned that more than 625,000 deeply traumatized school-aged children are living in the rubble in Gaza.
As the US-backed Israeli genocidal war on the Gaza Strip entered day 356 on Thursday, aerial and artillery strikes continued to pound and target different areas and massacre more civilians.
