The Executive Council of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), at its 214th session held in Paris on Wednesday 6 April 2022, unanimously adopted two resolutions on the State of Palestine: occupied Palestine, and cultural and educational institutions.
For his part, Palestine’s Foreign Minister Riyad Malki welcomed the adoption of the two resolutions, stressing their importance at this particular time, in light of the systematic and widespread violations that Israel is carrying out against the rights of the Palestinian people.
Malki called on the international community and UNESCO to take the necessary steps to stop the illegal practices of Israel, ensure the implementation of UNESCO resolutions, and not use double standards.
