Three UN experts have highly condemned the UKs’ prime minister Liz Truss proposal as she intends to relocate British embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.
“We write, as friends of the United Kingdom to say that there is nothing to review: the British Embassy should stay in Tel Aviv unless and until there is a comprehensive peace agreement between the Israelis and the Palestinians with Jerusalem as the shared capital of the two states,” announced the experts.
Both, Francesca Albanese, the current UN Special Rapporteur and Michael Lynk, the most recent former UN Special Rapporteur focused on human rights in the Palestinian territories occupied since 1967, along with a third United Nations expert, have condemned Truss’s suggestion, reported the Middle East Eye.
UK prime minister Liz Truss met on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly meeting on Wednesday with Israeli Occupation PM as they discussed other crucial matters.
Consequently, such proposal met with outrageous condemnations by Palestinians in which the Palestinian ambassador to the UK Husam Zomlot wrote in a tweet that “such irresponsible move is a blatant one for international law and the UN resolutions.”
