DayofPal– The military wing of Hamas, Al-Qassam Brigades, has released behind-the-scenes footage of the seventh prisoner exchange, which took place on Saturday. The video captured a rare moment—two captives who have yet to be released witnessing the handover of their fellow captives.

The footage shows members of Al-Qassam’s elite Shadow Unit, responsible for guarding prisoners, transporting three captives in a white vehicle. As they stepped out, they stood beside an olive tree that had been uprooted by Israeli forces.
One of the freed captives remarked that the tree seemed “larger than the State of Israel,” while another questioned what crime the tree had committed to deserve such destruction, adding, “There is no Hamas or Qassam here.”
One of the released captives expressed gratitude to his guards, stating that they ensured his safety and well-being, unlike the fate of “dozens of prisoners who were killed during the war.”
Another captive reflected on the war, lamenting that “everyone could have returned home before reaching this point—it should never have happened in the first place.”
In a striking moment, one detainee, before being handed over, kissed the heads of two Al-Qassam fighters. He revealed that his ancestors had migrated from Morocco and Turkey to Palestine for reasons unknown to him, concluding, “Everyone should return to their homeland.”
For the first time, the video also featured two captives expected to be released in the second phase of the agreement. Seated inside a car at the exchange site, they watched in shock as their fellow detainees were freed. Overcome with emotion, they sent a desperate message to the Israeli government and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
“We beg you—bring us home! Netanyahu, you have abandoned us! Our comrades are returning after 500 days—people of Israel, we plead with you, we want to be like them!” one of them cried.
Their shock deepened as they watched others being released. They implored Netanyahu to finalize a deal at any cost, warning, “Military pressure will kill us all. You started a deal—see it through!”
Appealing to Israeli citizens, they urged continued protests until all captives are freed: “Please, we want to reach that moment. We want to go home. Military pressure is not a solution.”
The video showcased the prisoner handover, which took place before a crowd and featured celebratory scenes, a military parade by the resistance, and a towering Palestinian flag hoisted high above the gathering.
Notably, the footage emphasized a powerful phrase: “The land knows its true owners, not foreigners with dual citizenship.” The video also included a patriotic Hamas anthem, reinforcing the resistance’s message.
On Saturday, the resistance in Gaza handed over seven living captives, who were believed to be the last ones scheduled for release under the first phase of the ceasefire agreement.
