DayofPal– Turkey has received 15 Palestinian prisoners who were deported by Israel as part of a recent ceasefire agreement, Turkish officials and Palestinian Prisoners’ Media Office confirmed on Tuesday.
The prisoners were forcibly removed from their homeland after being released from Israeli detention under the terms of the ceasefire deal.
The exiled freed prisoners in the fourth batch of exchange deal entered Turkey via Egypt, where arrangements were made to provide them with a secure and stable environment.
As part of the ceasefire agreement, Israel stipulated that certain released prisoners—particularly those serving life sentences—must be permanently removed from Palestinian territories.
This term has led to the forced displacement of a number of former detainees, with some now set to be hosted by Turkey.
Their relocation of the prisoners follows a directive from President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, with Turkey’s National Intelligence Organization (MIT) overseeing the effort to facilitate their arrival.
Turkish authorities have assured that all necessary measures have been taken to ensure their safety and well-being in Turkey.
Turkish sources emphasized that Turkey remains committed to supporting the Palestinian people in line with President Erdoğan’s vision of peace and humanitarian responsibility.
Officials also reiterated Turkey’s ongoing diplomatic and humanitarian efforts to stand by the Palestinian cause.
It is expected that Egypt, Indonesia and other countries will host more batches from exiled prisoners in the coming days.
