DaysofPal – Three Palestinians were injured on Monday evening after Israeli settlers opened fire during an attack on the Arab al-Nkhaila al-Kaabneh community, east of the town of Anata, northeast of occupied East Jerusalem.
The Jerusalem Governorate said settlers fired live ammunition at residents of the Bedouin community while carrying out the assault, wounding three civilians who were later transferred for medical treatment. No further details were provided regarding the severity of their injuries.
Following the attack, Israeli occupation forces raided the town of Anata and the Arab al-Nkhaila al-Kaabneh area. Although no arrests were reported, the governorate noted a heavy deployment of Israeli troops throughout the area.
Bedouin communities in the vicinity of occupied East Jerusalem, particularly east of the city, have repeatedly come under attack by Israeli settlers. These assaults frequently include gunfire, physical violence, and vandalism of property, often carried out under the direct protection of Israeli forces.
In a separate incident later on Monday, extremist settlers opened fire at a Palestinian civilian vehicle and pelted another with stones near the village of Marah Rabah, south of Bethlehem in the occupied West Bank.
Eyewitnesses said settlers fired at one vehicle and attacked another with stones, shattering the windows of several Palestinian cars. No injuries were reported in that incident.
These attacks come as violence has sharply escalated across the occupied West Bank in parallel with nearly two years of Israel’s war on the Gaza Strip. During this period, Israeli forces and settlers have intensified their assaults, resulting in the killing of at least 1,102 Palestinians, the injury of around 11,000 others, and the arrest of more than 21,000 people, according to Palestinian figures.
The ongoing attacks are part of a systematic policy aimed at intimidating Palestinian communities and forcing residents into displacement, clearing the way for further expansion of Israeli settlements around Jerusalem and throughout the occupied West Bank.
