Dozens of Palestinian citizens in the besieged Gaza Strip participated in stand today in solidarity with the Palestinian detainees in the Israeli occupation prisons and demanded the immediate release of the cancer-stricken detainee Walid Daqqa and saving his life.

Palestinian media sources reported that the participants in the stand organized by the Palestinian national forces and the Palestinian detainees’ institutions in front of the Red Cross headquarters, west of Gaza City, raised the Palestinian flag and pictures of the detainees, most of whom is Daqqa.

They affirm that the Israeli occupation continues its violations against the Palestinian detainees by beating, abuse, psychological and physical torture, and solitary confinement, which is a crime against humanity.

The participants called on the international community and human rights and humanitarian institutions to put pressure on the Israeli occupation to stop its continuous crimes against Palestinian prisoners, foremost of which is the policy of deliberate medical negligence.

It is reported that the prisoner Daqqa enters his thirty-ninth year today in the occupation prisons, and he suffers from spinal cord cancer. Recently, he was exposed to several serious and successive health issues, which were pneumonia, acute renal failure, and a drop in blood ratio.
