A group of settlers on Friday evening, June 16, 2023, ignited a fire in lands belonging to the village of Husan.
Rami Hamamra, the director of Husan Village Council, stated that the settlers set fire to lands in the Qadis area, located in the heart of the “Beitar Illit” settlement, which is built on Palestinian-owned land.
The fire resulted in the burning of dozens of olive trees and the injury of two Palestinian young men who suffered from smoke inhalation while attempting to extinguish the flames.
They were subsequently transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Hamamra further added that the settlers also tried to assault the Palestinians who were attempting to extinguish the fire.
Settlers have recently escalated their repeated attacks against Palestinians and their properties in Husan, including land confiscation and uprooting of trees.
